What Is CEREC Technology?
CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. It is an in-office system that allows us to design, create, and place a custom ceramic crown during a single appointment.
Before CEREC, getting a crown meant two visits, a temporary crown in between, and days of waiting for a dental lab to fabricate your restoration. That process is now entirely done in our Seattle office in one sitting.
The technology combines digital scanning, computer-aided design software, and an in-office milling machine to produce a crown that fits precisely and looks completely natural. From start to finish, the whole process typically takes about two hours.

High-Quality Ceramic Built to Last
CEREC crowns are made from solid blocks of dental-grade ceramic. The material is strong, durable, and designed to match the natural color and translucency of your surrounding teeth.
With proper oral hygiene and regular checkups, a CEREC crown can last a decade or more. Many patients enjoy their restorations for 15 years or longer.
The ceramic is also metal-free, making it a great option for patients with metal sensitivities or those who simply prefer a more natural-looking result.
